Eat the Menu - Shake Shack
Throw it back to summer 2018. Canlis held a collaboration with Shake Shack, the classiest buns and burgers barbecue pop-up event to grace the hills of upper Queen Anne. Then came the whispers. The speculation. As food trends go, the East Coast typically gets first dibs, skips over the Midwest (bad joke), thrives in California and Las Vegas before breaking ground in our beloved Seattle. Now, we have our very own.
Fast-forward to today, our first Eat the Menu gathering to take place in the heart of South Lake Union, at Shake Shack. With Eat the Menu, we strive to:
Try dishes we would not have tried otherwise
Geek out with other foodie fiends
Literally, eat the menu, with one of everything
In no particular order, here’s what we ordered (list or infographic)
Hot Chick’n, Montlake Double Cut, Shack Burger, Shack Burger Double, Smoke Shack, Smoke Shack Double, Shroom Burger (hey, vegetarians, hey), Shack Stack, Hamburger Hamburger Double (for the purists) Chick’n Shack, Fries, Cheese Fries, Bacon Cheese Fries, Hot Dog, Chicken Dog, Back & White Shake, Coffee Shake, Cookies & Cream Shake, Shack Attack Concrete, and Pie Oh My Concrete.
After feasting, the must try list:
Shack Stack: A fried and breaded mushroom, sandwiched in between two patties, deliciously melted cheese, and a generous slathering of Shake Sauce.
Montlake Double Cut: So you’ve had Shake Shack everywhere else... Then, order this, the exclusive Shake Shake Seattle burger. The Montlake Double Cut is first come, first served. Once they’re out, you’ll have to try another day. What sets the Montlake apart is Shake Shack partnered with Crowd Cow to bring the freshest cuts from local Washington farms, Beecher’s cheese for their Just Jack, and the Macrina to hold all this goodness atop their bun.
Coffee Shake: Our coffee connoisseur, who was already toting an iced coffee in hand, immediately pointed out the Coffee Shake was her favorite.
Bacon Cheese Fries: Wavy bacon? Not here. Perfectly crispy bacon loaded on top of Shake Shack’s classic crinkle cut fries and a fantastic cheese sauce.
Pie Oh My Concrete: Tastes like the comfort of home in the form of a frozen, creamy apple crisp.
Chicken Bites: Seasoned morsels with dipping sauces are convenient for little, messy eaters and those who like to dunk their food. Keep an eye out for these as they’ll be launched nationwide in a couple of days.
A heartfelt thank you to Brian and the Shake Shack team who welcomed us and the Eat the Menu concept with our friends. Your execution and attentiveness contributed to this event’s success and happiness in our bellies.
Until we eat again,
